History

Five generations have seen the history through this inn-hotel-restaurant .

Constructed in 1849 it was originally a post station with the stable for the change of carriages and horses until the early '900 when Luigi Gheri and his wife Marianna transformed it into an inn withguest rooms and stabling.

Theatre of the significant events of the history of Italy from the Unit to Fascism, it became reference point for German troops during the Second World War ( the rests of Gothic Line and the German military cemetery are 8km from the hotel) and then headquarters of the allied command after the September 8th of 1943.

In the 50s Pietro Gheri, the eldest son of Luigi e Marianna, continued with his wife Carolina father's activity and restructured the inn turning it into a comfortable and cozy

hotel-restaurant .

Il Cavallo” over the years confirms its reputation of a friendly, simple but quality hotel which permits his guests to feel immediately at home . Luciano Gheri, the son of Pietro, and his wife Maresca performed a second restructuring in the 70s.

Now the doughters of Luciano e Maresca, Daniela e Ombretta , have completely restored and renovated the building respecting the original architecture and the elements that characterize the environment ; they continue the tradition of quality and courtesy, not forgetting the taste of family life .
